Project planning and scheduling is a tricky thing at the best of times and even experienced project managers can run into problems here. The difference is that they just don’t end up in the mierda quite as often as others because they know about the three most common schedule killers and how to deal with them. While this does not guarantee a risk free schedule, it does take the edge off in a major way.
